Frustrated NASCAR Champ Aiming for Playoffs

Winless Busch Needs Victory At Daytona or Darlington

Kyle Busch, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, is frustrated after a winless season. However, he believes he can win one of the two remaining regular-season races, Daytona or Darlington, to secure a spot in the playoffs.

Busch's winless streak is the longest of his NASCAR Cup career, but he moved closer to victory at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, finishing second to Kevin Harvick.

“I could legit win Daytona,” Busch said. “I feel like we've got fast race cars. We're just not executing.

The playoffs begin on September 4 at Darlington Raceway.

“We've just got to keep digging and keep working hard,” Busch said. “We'll get there eventually.”

Busch's comments come after a week in which he criticized his team's performance following a 15th-place finish at Pocono Raceway. He said the team needed to “step up” and “get better.”

Busch's frustration is understandable. He is one of the most successful drivers in NASCAR history, and he is used to winning. However, he is confident that he can turn things around and make the playoffs.
