Ángel Romero is now a free agent after his contract with Corinthians expired. The Paraguayan striker had been linked with a move to several clubs in Brazil and abroad, but no deal materialized.
Romero joined Corinthians in 2019 and was a key member of the team that won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A title in 2019 and the Campeonato Paulista in 2020.
Romero struggled for form and fitness in 2021, playing just twice for Corinthians. He was released by the club at the end of the season.
Romero’s agent, Regis Marques, said that the player is now looking for a new club.
“Ángel is a free agent and he is looking for a new club,” Marques said.
Romero has been capped 33 times by Paraguay and has scored 13 goals for his country.
He is a powerful striker who is good in the air and has a good eye for goal.
Romero is expected to attract interest from several clubs in Brazil and abroad.
